Nice little stay”
I really enjoyed my stay here. I was traveling alone and thought I wanted it to stay that way, so I booked a hotel instead of a hostel. If you're looking to stay in mad haad, it's really conveniently located to the pier. Just a 5 minute walk up a slight hill. That was also convenient to me when I wanted to go out. It was away from the chaos right next to the pier, but not too far away that I felt secluded or alone. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. No Mosquitos, clean sheets, roomy bathroom, and the little balcony overlooked the courtyard reception with trees and flowers. Nothing flashy. Just simple, nice comfort. Quite peaceful. No view of the ocean, but that was okay with me. I never planned on spending most of my time in the hotel room. If you feel the same, this is a nice affordable room. If, however, you want to stay in the hotel a lot, this probably isn't the place for you. No pool and no ocean view. The bar wasn't staffed or available while I was there but they had beers for sale. I think the restaurant did serve food, but I went out everytime. Not many people ate there. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I initially booked two nights, but arrived a day late because I missed the last ferry from Surat thank. I had the travel agency at the airport call Baan Suan Ta and they happily pushed my reservation forward so I didn't have to pay for that night but still got my two nights. I extended it another night while I was there as well. Overall I had a very nice experience here. I'd stay here again if I wanted a comfortable room to be alone when I wanted. I ended up moving to sairee beach my last night into bungalows with a view, but they were completely mosquito ridden. It's a give and take I guess.

Piece of heaven in hell”
We came from the neighbouring island Koh Pangan, where we had a wonderful time, and our visit on Koh Tao started a little rough: it was hot, a lot of pushy taxi drivers and Baan Mae Haad looked dirty and chaotic compared to Koh Pangan. Especially me couldn't handle these disappointments very well and I only got angrier when we couldn't find the hotel. We used a free offline application called maps.me to find our way through Thailand, but since users have to add locations not all the locations are on the right spot. We had seen the whole island before we had found our hotel, Baan Suan Ta (which we added correctly in maps.me).

Lovely, clean and homely!”
We loved our one night stay at Baan Suan Ta Hotel! The rooms were clean and modern, the staff were very friendly and ever so willing to help out! Great location and quiet neighborhood!

Wonderful”
This hotel is a gem. It's not directly on the beach, but just a short walk to Mae Haad beach and then to Saari beach, which is much nicer. It's very close to a great massage place: Royal thai massage, and all the restaurants on the two main streets. It was very quiet and peaceful- great for a relaxing vacation.

Clean and pleasant, nice staff”
Newly built hotel, similar in style to Ananda down on the beachfront. Buan San Ta is directly off the main Mae Haad village road (which is built around a quite steep hill). Rooms are a good size, everything new, good water presssure in shower, good aircon, fridge, balcony. Staff were helpful, carried bags up to the third floor room (no lift).

Excellent location to my diving school”
I stayed at this play 12 nights during my trip in Koh Tao. It's 5-7mins walking distance to my diving school and close to many good brunch cafes. The staff are polite and friendly. The owner's bulldog Jockey is such a cutie!! Will definitely stay here again when I am back lol

Stayed there during New Years”
Small family run hotel, nothing special but the rooms were clean and the staff friendly and within walking distance from all the beaches on the west coast (Koh Tao is small island). If you are looking for a cheap option this place is great.

Nice hotel if you want to be close to the pier ”
We needed to stay near the pier because we had an early ferry (6 am) and found this hotel. It is clean and nice, rooms and spacious and bathroom was modern, hot water and good shower. I wouldn’t stay there for my whole Koh Tao vacation because there are better places by the beach, but great place by the main pier. The only problem we had was that 1. A/C was very loud and 2. hotel staff promised us a ground floor room but when we checked in they said they were out of ground floor rooms (we had lots of luggage and there’s no elevator)

Great 2 star hotel ”
We are currently staying here until our apartment becomes available as we are visiting Koh Tao for long term. This hotel is very basic but has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Hot water, Air Conditioning, Cable TV (we didn't use it but assume it works) The staff and welcome dogs go out of their way to be helpful. The beds are very hard but this may be typical, Im not sure. Great hotel for back packers, short stays, etc.

Great location, solid place for price”
Great location. There were a good number of Spiders and spider webs, so the place could be bit cleaner, bit that was my only complaint with cleanliness. Outside of that, the place was very nice. Very helpful staff and nice quiet place convenient to Mae Haad pier and restaurants.

Close to dive shops, but...”
My son and I stayed at Baan Suan Ta for 4 nights while we completed an Open Water dive course. Really, there were only a couple of positives to this place. It was affordable. I will give it that. It's also close to several dive shops and the pier. Aside from that, the place was just very average. Our bathroom was just kind of "sickly". The drain backed up quick and we flooded the bathroom on one occasion. Also, despite having AC running, I still got too warm because the comforter they proved was more appropriate for a cold climate and was way too thick. Also, the WiFi didn't work for the 1st 24 hours, but this is more to do with the island than the hotel. If you don't really care about getting a nice room, this will do because of its affordability. Not much else to say.

A nice place to stay”
Our stay was very pleasant. Even though the staff don't speak good english and we experienced some difficulties in communication, they were very friendly and eager to help when we needed a boat taxi or something like that. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Beds are very convenient. The hotel provides beach towels if necessary for free - for us it was extremely useful as we came with small backpacks to the island. The territory of the hotel is also nice and clean. The food was average and after the first breakfast we didn't eat at the hotel, it was easy to find something else around that was nicer and tastier. Just around the corner there is everything you might need - fruit seller, restaurants, massage. Just 3 minutes walk to the pier. So, location is extremely practical.

Brand new, nice little family-run hotel”
Loved staying here as it was convenient to restaurants and shops, the hotel is brand new, clean & comfortable, and the staff, presumably all family, live on the premises and are very helpful, even if English is somewhat limited. There are scooters for rent at the hotel. While we didn't eat there other than buying the Grandmother's samosas, seems like the food would be good & fresh since it's the family's kitchen and it is reasonably priced. The walk from the pier is 10 min or less and the walk to the Sairee beach is 15-20min.

Diving and climbing on Koh Tao”
In the end we did not regret booking a room. It is not a bargain, though. For the same money we had rooms at even better locations, whith a pool, free beach towels and daily cleaning during our trip. This is not part of the service at Baan Suan Ta...

Nice place”
Very nice hotel, good location near food and shops, very new buildings and beautiful room. We eventually moved over towards Sairee beach to be close to the ocean but this hotel was much nicer than the other places we stayed.

Above average”
The room was nice for the price and the bed big and comfortable. It's in a good location if you want to stay in Mae Haad with everything within walking distance. Cleanliness was okay except for the shower drain was slow from being dirty. However, I will not stay there again because of getting woke up on several occasions both nights I stayed there. I was in a room directly across from where they had a room with a large screen T.V. and the owners/staff talked loud and yelled while they were watching it until early morning.

Great value, good location and friendly staff”
I was looking for a centrally located hotel with basic amenities such as comfort, cleanliness and friendly staff. I am pleased to say that the above was fully met and I found my stay to be of great value and I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for the above, including a hassle free stay.

Big comfortable rooms with good air conditioning”
We booked this last minute and paid more than we would normally as we are budget backpackers but it was definitely worth it. The rooms were lovely and big, with a huge bed, TV, large sliding doors with balcony and good a/c. The staff were all very friendly too. If you can afford this hotel definitely book it!
