Mohammed was the absolute best… as we walked the island and searched for the house a head pooped out for three stories high and yelled welcome in the most genuine voice, that it felt like home. He made us traditional hibiscus tea upon arrival and we asked about some tours. His cousin arrived and couldn’t have given us better information, he explained the cost of boats, taxis and tours and what we should expect to pay. He booked our Nile cruise and car to philea at a discounted price. Along with getting us to each location himself. Continued to message to make sure we were happy along with recommendations for Luxor. Talking with these two felt like neighbours from down the street. Highly recommend! They recommend to pick you up and we missed it ! Make sure you read your emails as they will bring you to the island for free. Off the beaten path but that’s where you wanna be.

Basmatic nubian hotel gave us an exciting twist of our trip to Aswan as the location was quite hidden from the busy streets of the city. Finding the hotel was an adventure by itself but surely you will enjoy the experience. Special mention to the hotel manager , brother mohammed —he was extraordinary! We felt the utmost Nubian hospitality with the service and help that he extended. Our stay was perfectly hassle free as he made all the arrangements for our transports & trips. Room was clean & complete w/ amenities. Food served in their restaurant was amazing & the staff were extremely helpful as well. I consider them as my family and would certainly be back soon for more unforgettable experience.
