Thus, many people opted for beaches in Phuket, Bali, or Langkawi instead as the rules and regulation are much linen.

A must try food will be keropok lekor, satar and nasi dagang. Actually there's a lot to try but you can ask the locals on which food is worth the try. Apart from that, you can travel to the island (Redang/Perhentian/Kapas) or Kenyir Lake for recreational purposes. (scuba,snorkelling, fishing) Even the local beaches near town is nice and clean. You can have snacks at the beach while enjoying the scenery. Last but not least, this is definitely a place to go in Malaysia where you can have a little taste of nature and culture together.

However, there are many nice food such as Laksam, Nasi Dagang, Ikan Celup Tepung, Terengganu Bun and so much more. Those travelling to Terengganu should just walk or drive around and stop by at the famous stalls selling this good food. The Batu Buruk beach is also a place I would recommend to relax and enjoy the beauitful beach and water. The Crystal Mosque is also a attraction worth visiting. You can also visit Pasar Payang or the local batik houses to understand the culture.

It is because they cannot get such information from the people in the bus terminal and the airport. The city does not have clear street names sometimes we follow the rough city map.

you should also go to Pasar Payang which offers so many traditional item such as "Songket and Batik". To those who'd like to try or buy Keropok Lekor, "Losong" is the best place to have that.

Very relaxed town with long beaches and recreation attractions.

Moving around could be a bit of a challenge as I personally did not spot any public buses, or visible taxis or taxi stand, while driving around the city. Late morning seems somewhat lively and buzzling in and around the main market place, and there are plenty of clothing shops on the 2nd floor of the market. The only reason I will go back to Kuala Terengganu will be because of the jetty to take a boat ride to Redang Island. Other than that, the China town street is just another street to me, though with really authentic old houses along, and a few good eateries, these can be covered in a day or two. It just puzzles me that the weekend traffic through Chinatown seems never-ending, but I just cannot figure out where those cars were going to.

Places of interest include Chinatown, Pasar Payang (Central Market), the Sultan's Palace, the State Museum, Pulau Duyong, Sekayu Park, the village of Rhusila, Suterasemai Silk Centre and the latest attraction is Masjid Kristal in Pulau Wan Man. The Monsoon Cup takes place every year in the beginning of December in Kuala Terengganu. Also dubbed the formula 1 of sailing; this prestigious sailing cup has been held in Pulau Duyong (nearby Kuala Terengganu) for every year since 2005. I wouldn't recommend you to stay longer than three days, because there is not enough to do in the city itself. In the surroundings of the city, on the contrary, there is more than enough to do. You could visit one of the many beautiful tropical islands nearby Kuala Terengganu, like Redang, Lang Tengah, Tenggol and Kapas. Or you could head over to Lake Kenyir; the biggest man-made lake in Southeast Asia. You can travel from and to Kuala Terengganu in different ways. Most inhabitants earn a living by fishing. Moreover, the state of Terengganu earns extreme amounts of money by oil extraction. Along the coast you find some oil refineries, and there are numerous expats living in the region because of business related to oil. Kuala Terengganu has no actual shopping malls. If you want to do some light shopping you should visit the central market or the handicraft centre.

However, the pasar Payang, China town, State Museum and the Islamic Heritage park are worth to travel for my 3 days 2 nights stay here.
