DIY dorm is great. The bed arrangement is good, and not like those typical capsule style which is awful. As some have said, the mattress is too soft, I agree. Some like it, I don't. Pillow was too thin as well. I was attacked by mosquitoes on the first night. Complained, they sprayed Ridsect, and no mosquitoes after that. Blankets were too small, even for a small asian guy. The toilets are too small/narrow, and both are western style (tissue paper only, no water tap). The diner downstairs, WrongPlace, serves awesome food. I love their Sambal Serai Chicken. Can eat it everyday, like mi kolok. The staffs were super friendly. Although I highlight the negative, the positives of this place far exceed those negatives. I will come back here again when I revisit Kuching, 100%.

Last Minute Private Room Preparation”
Booked a bed in a 10-bed dormitory, but upon checking in, was informed by the staff that there's some issue with the booking with Agoda. In the end, they couldn't give me a bed in the 10-bed dormitory and instead, they prepared a last minute single private room for me at the attic. I was worried at first, but then I realize that the 10-bed dormitory was all filled with guys, and I'm the only girl, so I decided the take the private room for safety purposes. Apart from that, although the private room seems slightly dusty, but I'm happy with the room. They even went through the trouble to buy a new pillow for me, and provided clean bedsheets and blanket. They even provided free towel (which was not included in the package). Overall, I'm quite happy with the private room, as I felt safe and had all the privacy to myself. Especially when I'm a solo girl traveler.

The dorm not really a neat and clean place but I like the feel of it. Bed is large and quite comfortable. Aircon doesn't feel strong but during night it still feels cold. Toilet, shower and sink not good, just usable.

DIY Dorm is such a nice place to stay, close to restaurant and bar in a walking area. we loved the decoration: fancy and retro. very clean and bed are confortable. really recommend.

Disappointing”
Although the owners are nice guys, the place is seriously dirty-from cockroaches running around to candy wrappers, hair and dirt on bed platforms, to trash not emptied and cobwebs in toilets, showers and dorm room. The mattresses are incredibly squishy-sit down and you feel the wood platform below, air con that doesn't cool down the dorm space, and mosquitoes (to be fair, they did buy bug spray when I complained about being attacked. It is set up as restaurant (which is good) with a forgotten floor of dorm beds that you have to escape if you want to leave when the restaurant isn't open (12-12). I really liked the idea of using recycled materials, but there's no staff dedicated to hostel so no one available to help with activities and tour booking, where to do laundry, which bars to check out, or transportation to local sites and other destinations. Restaurant staff speaks very limited English.

it was well located, and a really cool place (well decorated), very spacious, and a place to keep your luggage. Not really had a place to relax or stay with other travellers, breakfast not included and toilets were very small and not very clean.

Esta sobrevalorado”
Es un sitio cutre, pero es barato. un poco guarro, uno de los dos AC esta roto asi que si te toca en el lado erroneo hace un poco de calor. no es acojedor ni por un instante. la cuestión es que el negocio principal lo tienen con el bar-restaurante. El guesthause está minimamente cuidado. para nada es tan cool como aparenta. solo es barato.

原本已經預訂住宿，因為去utc吃海鮮，直到晚上十點多Check in，但老闆告知已經客滿了，把錢退給我之後，並推薦我另一家 旅店，還陪同我一起過去登記住宿，我覺得這樣的處理相當好。隔天一早我再走回來，想預訂當天晚上的住宿，想不到 工作人員告訴我仍是客滿。這麼熱門的背包客棧沒能住到，讓我覺得相當可惜，希望下次有機會再來。
