Right next to the Basilica of Santa Croce, Domus Sessoriana is housed in a 10th-century monastery. Enjoy stunning views across Rome from the rooftop terrace. At this historical hotel you are just steps away from the ruins of Roman temples and amphitheatres. Domus Sessoriana also offers views of the Cistercian vegetable gardens below, and you can book visits to the museum, the monastery, the gardens and the basilica at reception. Staff at Domus Sessoriana are multilingual and provide professional service. You can book transfers or just relax with a magazine in the hall. Breakfast is a buffet served from 07:00 until 10:00 on the rooftop terrace and packed breakfasts can also be provided. Guests can enjoy relaxing moments at the café. Rooms here come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. All are comfortable and tastefully decorated, with handcrafted furniture. The Hotel is locating close to termini station and walking distance from the Coliseum. There is a beautiful church inside. Big rooms and amazing staff all the time. Big thank you to Marlene and John. Very helpful and very kind.

Friendly and helpful”
My plane was delayed and I arrived at 0330 in the morning. I had emailed before travelling to ask if they were happy for me to arrive after midnight. They said that was fine. I rang from the airport to say I was delayed and would not get in before 0300. They said that was fine too. When I arrived eventually I got a very warm, friendly and helpful welcome. I received the same treatment the following morning when checking out. I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff at a time of the morning when most people are not even functioning...

Historic site that needs updating.”
This is a nice basic hotel in a renovated monetary. My original room was very shabby but after complaining I was moved the next day. The majority of staff give the impression that they are unhappy working there. The exception was Monica who was lovely and so helpful. The continental breakfast is good and now on the terrace a nice view.

Old hotel, with many defective features, windows that do not open and are glued with scotch so as not to enter the wind, for a stay of 5 nights I received 2 small pieces of soap and 5 shampoos- 7ml, no shower gel, a bath and so on. . Good luck I had toilet paper. A hotel with indolent staff, who did not want to read on our voucher that we had all taxes included, forcing us to pay 42 euros city taxes, although neither receipt could give us, because they could not pay in system. I suspect that the figure was already paid and could not be collected, we had to leave the money and we went to the airport because we lost the plane. After making a complaint to Agoda, we were announced that we will receive the money in the account. Breakfast pretty poor.

No Internet connection/ uncomfortable beds”
The bed was horrible, I could feel the mattress spring on my back. I asked to change rooms, they changed the mattress which was also not so comfortable. While changing the mattress, I noticed a huge crack on the bad. They had to change the bed claiming there was no room available. I paid for a room with wifi but stayed 3 days without internet connection. Complained many times but the staff was careless and did not help. They told me that if I wanted to use the internet I had to go to the terrace or to the reception where according to them the internet coverage was good. I asked to change the room, they refused to. Saying there’s no room available. Breakfast was terrible, bread hard as rock. It looks like it was leftovers from some bakery, very few options available, all very tasteless . I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

Horrible experience”
The roof of the hotel is totally leaky, after a stronger rainfall water comes into the rooms. The rooms are very cold, the heater (air conditioning) didn't work in room 101 and 203. I guess in the rest the same. The beds are totally worned and used. Honestly I never slept in such bad beds. The elevator was also defect, if you read the reviews here, the elevator is often defect. Have fun to carry your baggage 4 levels down. I wrote an emal with these issues to the hotel. Never get a feedback.

The environment of the hotel is very special which locates in a church. Reception is helpful. Breakfast is acceptable. There is air con in the room. If you do not mind to have a 15 mins walk from the metro, you should take this hotel into yr consideration.

Visiting Rome”
Staff were very friendly and gave the time to answer any questions that we asked in relation to the history of the building and queries of where to meet our tour guides. On our first day we were told where to buy our metro ticket (at the newsagent across the road) which was not the norm for us.

Historische Unterkunft mit Charme”
Ich war zum zweiten Mal dort. Es ist ein sehr schöner Ort in strategisch guter Lage, um historische Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß zu erreichen (Forum Romanum, Palantin, Domus Aureus). Die Geschichte der Unterkunft finde ich sehr spannend. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber gut ausgestattet. Nur das Frühstück könnte etwas Obst und Gemüse vertragen.
