Century Riverside Hue Hotel
Perfume River,Hue - View on map
"It is a very centrally located but quiet hotel, with one of the best river views available from hotels in Hue. Its 4* are adequate, as rooms are spacious and confortable, with the usual amenities, even if the bathroom was small. Every costumer services, at the front desk and room service, was perfect. They managed the booking of a private boat and a taxi and charged the official prices. The caffé and the restaurants are good. The Riverside restaurant has exceptional service at a very good price at the best setting. Terrace Restaurant has a good buffet for breakfast and lunch and a menu dinner with option of terrace tables. Beware of the mosquitos while dinning at either restaurant. "

Angsana Lang Co
Lang Co,Hue - View on map
"We had a last minute stay of 3 nights here due to a typhoon-fueled cancellation of a Halong Bay trip. The whole stay was very relaxing and effortless from start to finish. It began with a pleasant complimentary airport transfer and ended with one of the (very friendly) hotel staff personally delivering my necklace I had left behind in Angsana to our next hotel in Hue. She even insisted that the new hotel have us call her on her mobile so she could be sure the necklace had reached us safely, very impressive service. It being low seson the hotel was very quiet which just contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. We found the food to be expensive relative to prices elsewhere in Vietnam but this is to be expected with such a quality resort. That being said, it certainly wasn't any more expensive than prices we would happily pay in the UK. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were happy to share insights on local places to visit and the Vietnamese langauge which made for interesting breakfast/ dinner conversation. The breakfast was so substantial we found we only needed 2 meals a day - there were extensive western and Vietnamese options. We also really enjoyed the fresh fruit provided in the room every day, just one of a series of much appreciated small touches. The beach was very clean and the sea inviting, although for most of our stay it was too rough to swim (due to the tail end of the typhoon in the north of the country). The pool complex was very large with small channels leading to 'hidden' pools round the back of the hotel, jacuzzi and river rapids. There seemed to be some development going on round the pool so I would imagine a pool side bar type facility come high season. There seemed to be a wealth of activities on offer, many complimentary. We booked a tandem bike to explore the resort- this isn't too large but includes some beautiful views. Thank you Angasana Langco! "

Vu Homestay
Hue City,Hue - View on map
"First of all, the homestay is a 37 minute walk away from the point that is shown on this map. Which is not a bad location, if we knew beforehand. When we could not find it, we called Vu and he and his father picked us up with their motorcycles. Vu was very friendly and gave us two bikes for free to check out the area. The homestay is a nice place with huts the owner built himself. They were very clean, but as it was raining throughout the day and the night, I caught a flew as it was quite cold inside. The food that Vu offers is really tasty, but as you are so far away from the city centre, you don't really have any other choice than eating there. All of that is still okay, but when I asked him to do my laundry, I got it back in the morning and it was still wet. I asked him to put it in the dryer once again, and he tried to convince me that my hands are wet, not the laundry. Anyway, he took the clothes back, just to give it back to me the way he gave it to me before. I told him once again that it's still wet and showed him a pair of jeans as an example. About 2 hours later, just before we left, he gave it back to me and everything except for the jeans was still as wet as before. It really annoyed me that he tried to take me as a fool. Approximately 5 minutes before we had to leave to catch a bus in the city, which we booked with him, he tried to make us pay 80.000d for a taxi to the bus station, even though the day before, he told us he and his father will take us to the city for free. When we complained, he payed the taxi. We left this place with very mixed feelings, as everyone there was really friendly, the huts are really nice and the food was one of the best we had in Vietnam, but knowing that Vu is mostly after your money, left a bad aftertaste."

Banyan Tree Lang Co
Lang Co,Hue - View on map
"We stayed in a beach villa, which, despite the poor weather, was fantastic. The heated jacuzzi allowed us to enjoy the outdoor space, and the room itself was extremely comfortable. Again because of th pe weather our acitvities were limited, but the hotel made every effort to keep us entertained, with bad weather activities complimentary, and day trips to Hoi An and Hue possible. The resort is half way between Hue and Da Nang, which means there is not much to do in the local vicinity, but this could be a good point if your aim is to relax in peace. We ate in all the restaurants and bars available and found them all to be excellent. The staff were incredibly attentive, and it's a shame the they are the cause of our only complaint. That is, they were just a bit too attentive. Our welcome to the room was over half an hour long, when we'd just arrive after a long car journey. Our activities felt as though they were supervised by the staff. We were interrupted in the middle of our own private conversations over dinner or drinks on multiple occasions for mundane information or just idle chat. We feel bad for leaving this in a review when everybody was so nice, but felt it was worth mentioning. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and look forward to coming back someday when the weather is better. "

Villa Louise Hue Beach and Spa
Thuan An Beach,Hue - View on map
"You will not go wrong by taking a few days out of a hectic travel / tour schedule to put your feet up on the beach here. Literally on the beach, the staff and facilities here are exceptional. We ate lunch and breakfast and the food was fantastic. The beach bar offers a low-key place to eat or drink. The absolute best part was the amazing sunrise. The only thing to understand is this location is about a 35 minute drive from Hue. If being in the middle of the action is important, come to the Beach Bar for the day. However, I'd recommend a couple nights in a bungalow to unwind."

Vedana Lagoon Wellness Resort & Spa

"Do not hesitate to stay here if you are looking for privacy in luxurious and peaceful surroundings. We were so rested after our 4 days. There is plenty to do from kayaking, pool, swimming, table tennis, DVDs, trips to Hue or just reading by the pool. Our private pool was lovely and even warm in mid-Nov. You can get around the resort via bikes (free) or the staff-driven electric buggy. The staff are courteous and eager to please. Our host, Thanh, was excellent and helped obtain an ao dai (national dress) on her day off - definitely service beyond the normal call. While the menu is limited, the food is delicious, especially the breakfasts. You can get cheaper drinks elsewhere in Vietnam, but they are still favourable by UK restaurant standards. You can get room service at a very reasonable price; we tried it for breakfast one day, which was a treat well worth having. Our villa (the honeymoon bungalow) was extremely comfortable and the bathroom opulently brilliant, with a large tub for 2 and a superb waterfall shower. The silk robes and slippers top it off perfectly. We went to Hue (the hotel do a daily complementary shuttle 0930-1530) and did the sightseeing thing as well as the market. Lots to see to even justify 2 trips. Taxi to or from Hue airport is around £14 one way. In sum, this is ideal for couples to step outside of the frenetic world of work and recharge batteries in fantastic scenery, extreme comfort and supported by first class staff. We will be returning for certain for a longer stay. "

Thanh Tan Hot Springs By Fusion
Phong Son,Hue - View on map
"This was a wonderful surprise. After living in country for two years, this is a great oasis in the middle of everyday Vietnam. Quite some distance from Quang Tri or Hue, so choose your taxi wisely. English is spoken during day time working hours, but all of the staff from security to the maids, were willing to give it a try. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Extra towels, free rides on the zip line, and letting us stay over while we waited on our taxi back to Hue. We got a flash deal from Agoda, as there were very few people staying there. I was the only "foreigner" and it appears from the number of day visitors that this is usually locals only. The grounds are very well maintained and very large. If all of the rooms were full, there is still enough space to never feel crowded. The rooms were very clean, modern, and all of the facilities were well maintained. Breakfast was strictly Vietnamese, but there was an American menu from which to order. Service was exceptional. We did not use the spa or massage but the various hot springs and pools were great to relax in. The weather was perfect as well. My wife tried the zip line with me, which was quite a shock. The only complaint is that even though they advertise bicycles for rent, they don't. We really needed to get out and buy some items at a store, as there is no place on site to buy toothpaste, phone cards, or even a candy bar. We look forward to visiting again over Christmas. We were really impressed with the beauty and peacefulness of the grounds. This is a great place to chill out for a few days."

Hue River Side Villa

"Incredible villas on the river. Qi was an outstanding host and was very helpful and insightful on what to do in Hue. He booked a fantastic day tour for us on the back of motorbikes with a driver - super fun. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Hue which is central to everything then this is the place to stay. It’s a 2 minute walk to the walking streets which come alive at night and a 15 minute walk across the river to the imperial citadel. 10/10 rating in every category!! "
