"I was shocked when I had found a place to stay INSIDE the citadel for such a cheap rate. OYO Lucky Hotel is a brand new hotel that had just opened a few months ago. The rooms were great and very large. The TV even had Netflix and Youtube on it! Right outside of our room was a large balcony that has a beautiful view onto the river. It isn't directly into the city, so we often drove into the city for dinner. But, with that being said, it is very peaceful and quiet. The staff are remarkable and were always willing to help us in any sort of way. I would definitely stay here again if I came back! Thank you!"

"Stayed here for 2 nights in December 2017 - chose it for proximity to citadel and was glad I did as could get there in a few minutes' walk and visit it myself at my own pace. It's a little confusing to find at first as it's down a lane off the main road, but the locals are friendly and helpful and will direct you there if you're unsure. The family who run the guesthouse are lovely, and provide you with a dinner on your second night, allowing you to try a range of home cooked Vietnamese dishes. If you can speak French be sure to have a chat with the grandad who is lovely company and can tell you about the history of Vietnam. There are plenty of places in the nearby streets to eat and drink, and you can walk over the bridge to the modern city centre in about 10- 15 mins if you want a bigger range. Taxis to/from the train station are only about £2 (60,000VND), and the tour company I booked my transfer to Hoi An through collected me from the guesthouse in the morning."
