Wonderful stay - homely and local experience”
Had a wonderful homely stay at Greenhouse@Popus with 2 other friends! Being to Penang multiple times, I thought I should stay in a shophouse for a change and this place certainly stood out! Meng Yau and Ah Seng were both friendly and prompt in responding. Though Ah Seng does not have whatsapp, Meng Yau was very prompt to contact Ah Seng to coordinate arrival times. The house was as shown in photographs, comfortable for 3 people (or more if they don't mind sleeping on the floor in the living room or even the kitchen). It was a fun experience trying to live like a local in a shophouse, opening and locking doors and windows..haha! Neighbourhood generally quiet except for dog barking at times (but I guess that is unpreventable). Location is excellent with famous roti canai stall just down the road, Campbell St, Kimberly St and New Lane within walking distance. There's also a CAT stop (Jalan Kedah) a few metres from the house. Will definitely recommend it!

Comfortable stay”
Very nice place for a group of 3-4 people. We loved the washing machine and laundry area (we had clean clothes everyday!). Short walk for food and shopping. Overall a enjoyable stay!

Very pleasant stay and the people who assisted us were very helpful and friendly. With a bus stop (for several bus routes as well as the Hop-on Hop-off no cost route) within 3 minutes walk and the terminus for all bus routes at KOMTAR within 5 minutes walk it is a great location. Many Hawker stalls and a great bakery/cake shop close by. We caught the bus to Batu Ferringi at KOMTAR and the return trip dropped us off at the stop 3 minutes walk from home in the adjoining street.

We especially appreciated the washing machine and free WiFi. It was nice to be able to walk to some excellent eating places and we found the brochures and maps (with recommendations) very useful. The teenagers (2x15 year old girls) enjoyed the selection of DVDs and the chance to catch up with friends on Facebook! Our only disappointment was the lack of air con in the second bedroom upstairs - which made it impossibly hot to sleep in, and the inadequate mattress (and lack of a top sheet and duvet) provided as a fourth bed. Although semi rectified by the girls opting to sleep downstairs, and the arrival of another thin mattress on the last night. Popus House is clean and fresh and an excellent place for a couple to stay - long or short term.

It was a perfect 4 nights stay for each and every one of my family.However,the owner should rectify the wi-fi internet connection and also make sure the kitchen can be utilized for cooking. My family could not cook because the stove not working. Highly recommended for family with children.

Was a pleasure to stay a restored georgetown home. It was to large for a solo traveller but would be ideal for a couple or small family. The Interior of the house was well fitted out and it was a very charming place to stay. The location was great and has a far better feel than staying in a large hotel and it was a stones throw away from the attractions of georgetown mainly the food stalls.

Sharon the manager was at the property on time, and she showed us the facilities and provided us tour brochures/maps and good tips on meals, shopping & tourist attractions. Some suggestions: 1.Agoda should highlight if a property has a manager on site or nearby. 2.It would be useful to highlight the availability, or otherwise, of left luggage service. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay at this property.

Great Location in Beautiful Historic Georgetown”
Best place to stay in Georgetown - five times the size of a hotel room! You're staying amongst it in a residential neighbourhood with the usual sounds of work, familes and traffic but this is not a minus - it's all part of the experience. Walk to the best places to eat, shop and even get a haircut ($2!) Will always return - could not imagine anywhere better!

It was lovely to be met by Mr Khoo at the airport and taken to Popus Lane. Sharon gave us a very warm welcome and explained the 'workings' of the house very well. It is modern, light and has all the conveniences. We especially appreciated the washing machine and free WiFi. Angenehmer Aufenthalt, sogar Waschmaschine steht kostenlos zur Verfügung. Haus für Familien und Paare Ideal, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Vermieterin ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Sichere Lage, da in unmittelbarer Nähe zur örtlichen Polizeistation. Empfehlenswert!! WLAN ging leider nicht, jedoch genug Bars und Restaurants in Georgetown mit kostenlosem Zugang.
