Amazing Hotel, Fantastic Staff, Beautifully Clean, Perfect Location, Highly Recommend ”

The staff were amazing, couldn’t have asked for more. So many thoughtful touches including a ‘happy hour’ where guests can enjoy free wine and local dishes cooked by the friendly chefs. Breakfast was lovely and although the continental offering was better than the hot food my friend (who cannot eat gluten) and I both ate well each morning, the staff ensured that Gluten free options were available. Our room was clean and spacious with plenty of room for clothes storage. The shower cubicle was a little ‘tired’ but it worked perfectly well and everything was clean to a high standard, spotless! We stayed in the annex (rooms in a building just a short walk across the road) and so paid less for our room than guests in the main hotel, this made it extremely good value. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we like to walk, all of the major attractions are within reasonable walking distance; the furthest away being the Colosseum which took us around 30-35mins. Highly recommend.

So Good I Extended My Stay With Them”

Located in a not busy section of Rome so it's quiet - you get a good night's sleep and there's not busyness when you step out of the hotel. The building feels like old world Rome that was turned into a hotel. Love the vibe! The elevator is one of those non modern ones but very safe - not scary at all just very consistent with the vibe. The frontdesk staff were ALL amazing, I'm the type of traveller who asks a lot of questions and I always go to the frontdesk for guide and assistance about the city I'm in and all the frontdesk officers were all glad to help 100% - not half hearted help - they made sure you get the help you need 100%. The hotel is very near the river and when you cross the short bridge and walk around you find yourself stumbling upon the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the shopping district and all the Piazzas. Also very near The Vatican. There's a Pharmacy just below the hotel in case you need anything. Overall I felt like I made a great choice with Hotel Sant Angelo!

Staff very helpful, friendly. Stored our bags, helped with maps, directions, booking a bus. Breakfast very good, fresh squeezed orange juice. Happy hour each evening with enough food that you could make it dinner if you want. Beds very comfortable. Great air conditioning. Incredible gelato around the corner, best in city. Quiet restful sleep. Discounts at neighborhood restaurants. Exceeded our expectations. We loved it!

We've not been placed at the hotel itself, instead were take to some other building nearby. The room itself was not very bad, but it was with a strong chemical (I assume it was cleaning chemical smell) odor. Even though we had a compact stroller (Yoyo) it would not fit into the elevator of the building. Breakfast was very good.

Great Location, Average hotel”

The location, just down the road from the Vatican, was great and made it very easy to get to various sights as we were happy to walk to most places. However, the room we stayed in was over the road and down the street from the main hotel so it felt rather like we were staying in a nondescript motel rather than a hotel. The room was high ceilinged but quite small and a bit cramped with two teenaged children. The second bed was more or less in the doorway/corridor of the room, which made it feel like an afterthought. As we hardly spent any time in the room, it was ok and didn't feel too bad but if you are hoping to have a leisurely wake up while lounging around the room, this isn't the place for you.

Disappointing tired lookin hotel ”

On arrival took luggage to first floor but was told that we were in a gloomy annex 150 metres down the road. I complained and day after got room 301 in the building at N.16 it stunk of sewage and the malfunctioning air con was also very noisy. Breakfast and happy hour had plenty of average food especially low quality ham and bacon. Cappuccino standard varied based on who made it. Breakfast entrance door is dirty can't anyone see it? On checking out I said wasn't impressed with the above and was not charged for 3 bottles of water and one beer. I would not go back to this hotel or recommend it to anyone. Check the smell in room 301.

I arrived in the 30th of December. The heat was not working. They told me they had mine to fix it. They didn’t have another room because the 1st floor and 3rd floor has no heat. When I complained I was told that I was not the only one that was cold. I paid one hundred something euros a night and I had to sleep with my coat on. I got sick.

Lovely Hotel”

I absolutely enjoyed my time at this hotel. All of the staff encountered were phenomenal-exceptionally friendly. The breakfast is amazing. They make all pastries on site so besides breakfast they have a buffet in the reception that is open 24 hours with coffee, pastries and frozen yogurt. They also have a happy hour with wine and more snacks! Location wise this hotel is perfect. 15 minutes to the Vatican, 10 minutes to the pantheon and underground stops. If I return to Rome, I will without a doubt return to Hotel Sant Angelo!

Stayed here over Christmas. After some initial issues with the Wifi, I found it connected really well. It´s a great location, very helpful staff, and was a good price for the high Christmas hotel prices. If you want a nice hotel within easy walking distance to the Vatican, this is the place to stay.

We stayed in the annexed part of the hotel. Perfectly situated to get to all the sites around Rome. The room was basic (a place to sleep is all you need in a city like Rome though) and it was cleaned every day to a high standard. Would I stay here again...a resounding yes!

Very good”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 occasions while visiting Roma. The hotel has an annex which we stayed at on the first part of our visit and the room was clean and well kept. The experience was favorable and uneventful which is important when travelling. On our second visit we stayed at the main building with friends and enjoyed the amenities which included a 'happy hour 6-8 PM where organic red wine was served along with yummy appies and sweets. However, on our third visit which was when we were travelling home we again stayed at the annex but in the evening when we returned from dinner, there was a definite vibration and almost as if you were in an idling car. We called to have our room changed as it was explained that the unit was over a restaurant and I believe they were using a generator which produced this noise and vibration. Needless to say, we were not pleased and the only other option offered was 2 single rooms with a single bed. I believe the staff are very accommodating and work under trying circumstances. The staff are exceptional with their customer service but the hotel has a tired appearance. In all likelihood if we return to Rome we will choose to stay elsewhere. The positives are the excellent staff, location which is very central and walkable to many sites yet the facilities in some instances may be disappointing for the seasoned traveler. Excellent”

An older hotel in a quiet part of Rome which we loved. The staff were very accomodating and spoke perfect English. Loved the breakfast and complimentary happy hour. The only downside was the peculiar layout of the hotel -reception and meals area on one side of the street and then a walk down the road to access the actual hotel rooms with a key to open the security gate outside the building. For a solo woman traveller this could be problematic if returning to the hotel at night. Otherwise value for money!
