The room was spacious, clean and well-maintained. The location was excellent as many buses, even free shuttle tourist buses that ferry you around the place are available at the bus stop right outside the hotel. Being 5 minutes away from Puli Winery makes this highly accessible for non-driving tourists who come from Taichung. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being 5 minutes away from Puli Winery makes this highly accessible for non-driving tourists who come from Taichung. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but it is not of concern since one would be very busy sampling the array of Taiwanese food around the city. All in all, absolutely value-for-money and worth staying at.

The staff there are very helpful. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Good for value. The only disadvantage is that it is quite far from the town centre (Puli). We had to take taxi from town centre (NT $100) to the hotel. According to the staff, it is an half an hour walk to the town centre. However, the hotel is near to one of the bus stops that can access to Sun Moon Lake, Qingjing Farm etc so it's still quite convenient. If you don't mind having local food,exploring the town and talking to the local people, this hotel is a choice budget accommodation.

Lakeside is quite old and much of the infrastructure of both the hotel and the area has seen better days. Breakfast was more than adequate. You will need a car to get lunch and dinner in Puli as there were no places open on weekdays and only one small shop that seems to mostly sell beer. The area around the lake is quite lovely and worth the time to walk around it. A lakeside room with balcony it was very pleasant. Complementary paddle boat (this was fun) and spa (not used by us) are welcome additions. There was very little English spoken but as always a smile and some judicious hand signals will get the answer most often needed.

Large room but dated by most standards. Breakfast, while seemingly plentiful, was largely disappointing. This hotel seems to be the largest in town and appears to be occupied mostly by local and foreign tour groups. On the plus side, the hotel was roughly a 10-15 min. stroll to the town center which was fairly festive with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Also, the hotel provided free indoor and outdoor parking.

Our plan in Nantou was to visit Sun Moon Lake on day 1, then stay at Puli and visit Cingjing farm on day 2. So we needed just a centrally located hotel in Puli to sleep 1 night. That's exactly what this hotel offers. A clean, huge room (I think they gave us the family room), simple breakfast in the morning. The hotel has a tie-up with a private car park about 5 minutes walk from the hotel, which is were we parked the car. There are some local restaurants nearby as the hotel is located on one of the main roads in Puli.
