Find hotels near Xitou Monster Village in Nantou, Taiwan

The hotel only provides one trip (to and fro) to Xitou Monster Village per day and the location is not really accessible unless you take the town bus from the terminal station which runs every hour (weekday). They weren't very flexible in sending us to the terminal when we checked out and had 2 large luggage with us. They weren't very flexible in sending us to the terminal when we checked out and had 2 large luggage with us. True that the terminal is only 5 min walk from the drop off point but dragging 2 luggage up a slope to the terminal is literally an uphill task. I recommend booking a driver for a day if you want to fully explore Xitou as transportation is quite impossible. Generally, the hotel is clean though a bit old. They even give each room guest a free customized key chain! The night can be boring as shops close early in the mountains but the hotel provides free DVD rental at the counter. Hotel breakfast is wonderful - though the spread isn't great but the options are mainly healthy (and vegetarian) dishes that I supposed was catered to the older crowd.

Location wise, it takes only couple minutes to Si-Tou which is really convenient for visitors. 4 of us stayed in a family room with reasonable size. The in-hotel restaurant serves only basic foods which doesn't worthy to pay for it. Overall speaking, I guess it was a nice hotel in old days but it's pity it doesn't be well maintained at present days.
