So so glad that we stayed here instead of Kuala Tahan. But bear in mind, the pricing at mutiara is higher compare to others. ( RM 270/pax for 3d2n) Food in the resort was amazing. I recommend trying the Malaysian cuisine (get the sharing set). The sardine sambal was amazing. We had this meal for 2 days consecutively 💕💕💕 we tried “MAMA” the floating restaurant, it was okay ¿ would recommend to try it for the experience but don’t expect amazing food :) The activities available is like between chill and adventure. I would totally recommend Lata Berkoh, we took a boat ride for an hour and hiked for 30 mins to see the cascading water 😍. Night trekking was good too, it was around the “swamp loop” not towards any hill. You would mostly see insects only, so don’t have high expectation. My highlight was the tapir sighting 💕💕💕 we were at tahan hide. The guide said we were very lucky

Great place to stay in Kuala Tahan. Stayed for 3 nights. Good standard of room, basic but very clean. Warm, powerful shower. Modern air conditioning units so very quiet. Great location, 10 minute walk into Kuala Tahan and jetty on the river. Little mini market on site. Only down side was breakfast. Very strange choices of food(not many choices) so stuck to toast and coffee. But on the whole would definitely return to Han.

This is a good base to set up for the exploration Taman Negara. Eventhough it is not located by the riverside which is the entrance to the national park, it is close enough to walk. The staff are friendly and accomodating, and the room is welcoming enough to get back to after a day out in the forest, even if the air conditioning is a bit too cold. There is also a restaurant that serves tasty local dishes, though the offering might be a bit limited during off peak season.

Weather during our stay was kind to us and didn't rained in any of the 3 days we were there! Only less than 5 minutes walk to the river jetty and we got to complete all the activities we wanted to and came back to the room with - huge clean fluffy towels, aircon(bit noisy), hot water and a rain shower! If you get the balcony units you will have a clothes rack and hangers provided to dry your clothing as well. We packed lots of 1.5 litre water from the petrol stations on the way here but then realised the owner has a healthy stock of bottled water for sale at prices more reasonable than what we got from the stations. Best to avoid the tour agency in the center of town which requires you to remove your footwear. Rude receptionist and their charges are way higher than those nearer to the river. Ask the owner about where to book your activities or have your lunch/dinner and you will not be disappointed!

Very friendly and welcoming hosts, home made Pau for breakfast was lovely ( they even sent me home with some) There are indoor and outdoor sitting areas. The bedroom had wi-fi, aircon, mosquitoe nets over the beds and was simply but adequately furnished. The bathroom is fairly basic but ok. We booked a couple of tours through them and the highlight was a morning spent birdwatching with Aki, who is one of the country’s bird experts. It was a great way to end our Malaysian travels.

We loved our stay here despite the relentless heat and humidity that comes with the rainforest. The owner Yatie has painted beautiful murals all over the building and has a lot of knowledge about the surrounding area. She also has a few old scientific journals focused on Taman Negara in the reading cabinet out front that we really enjoyed looking at. Great place to stay for a few nights while visiting the rainforest!

we stayed 3 nights there with our children (10 and 14) and although our children lacked comfort we really enjoyed it. The hostel organised loads of activities for us with a very nice private guide who explained us many things about the jungle. The room is very basic and we had to put an extra matress on the ground but we had running water, electricity and our own toilet so I would definitely recommend it. Cheap hostel with great value for money.

We stayed at Agosto Hostel for one night. The facilities are great. Capsule style beds, hot showers, nice common area and good food plus beer. Further the stuff is incredible. Ann and Siti take really good care of their guests and make you feel like at home. After returning from our jungle trip ann offered us to use the facilities to clean up and rest for a bit plus she took really good care of my fever and my friends twisted ankle. If you come to taman negara stay at agosto hostel. Their knowledge and goodness will enrich your trip and make u feel like at home! Thanks for everything and good luck with spotting wild elephants ;)
