Find hotels near Laem Tong Beach in Ko Phi Phi, Thailand

I was a single at Holiday Inn, amongst a heap of couples, mainly in their 30-50s. So I was a tad lonely to be frank. Still, if you want to relax in style, this is a great place, and if you are a couple, this really is a great spot. Everything at the hotel is 1st rate except the rooms, which are still OK. Laem Tong beach is right away from the action at Tonsai village on the complete opposite end of Phi Phi, so don't expect many activites of any sort outside the resort. Be prepared to pay through the nose for everything. There are a couple of restaurants in the Sea Gypsy village next door that are still expensive for Thailand, but are a heap cheaper than Holiday Inn (although no where near as nice) ALso there's a couple of tents on the lawn of a cheaper resort along the beach where you can get a great massage for half the cost of the Holiday Inn spa. But of course, tents are not a spa! I didn't hire a long tail boat from the Sea Gypsys for snorkelling, but would imagine that they give you exactly the same service as you get from the Holiday Inn for half the price, although you'd have to either hire your snorkel gear from Holiday Inn or bring your own. Even with hiring snorkel gear, it'd still be cheaper I should imagine. If you want to hire a long tail boat to get to Tonsai Village, do not hire one from Holiday Inn, go next door to the Sea Gypsys, bargain a little and save yourself 400 baht each way! Gym was good. Snorkelling at Mosquito Island is the best on Phi Phi by a country mile. Snorkelling on the reef in between Mosquito and Laem Tong beach was only as good as that everywhere else on Phi Phi... good but not remarkable. So anyways, to summarise, top spot for romance, or if you want to do nothing, and you're wealthy, but otherwise, stay at the other end of Phi Phi!

Our stay at Erawan Palms Resort was just amazing. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet and relaxing vacation. The resort is placed on Laem Tong beach, a 20 minutes boat ride from Ton Sai pier. It is a quiet, clean and maintained beach, with some restaurants offering really great food. The resort itself is very exstensive, placed on the beach and has various accomodations. It was renovated not long ago, and the rooms are beatifuly done and spacious. Cleaning was done every day with a great care. We enjoyed every minute spent in our room. But the best aspect of this hotel is the staff. Everyone were very friendly and kind and eager to help with any question we had. We felt very welcomed through our 9 nights stay. Resort manager, Ko, was dedicated to give us the best expiriense possible (and not only us). The hotel also offers shuttels to Ton Sai pier twice a day and a longtail boat services are available on the beach. Also has great spa and breakfast!

Phi Phi Natural Resort is a great place for those wanting a little bit of peace and quiet. The grounds are beautiful and the villa rooms spread out enough amongst the sprawling garden grounds that there is a fair degree of privacy. The reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff have been very helpful, friendly and hardworking. Splash out for a delux villa if you can, amazing location right on the beach. If you go for a standard villa, rooms 123 & 124 still have a lovely view (glimpse) of the water and you will enjoy relaxing on the deck chairs on your balcony. The private beach is a little rocky, but if you swim out to the reef edge there is a lot of tropical fish to see. As along all the beaches on Phi Phi, unfortunately there is quite a lot of damage to the reef, but still enough fish to make it an interesting swim/snorkel. If you prefer a wide sandy beach for your swim just walk the 5-10 minutes to the main Laem Tong beach (but much busier and noisier). I found the room to be absolutely fine, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom nicely decorated. I have poor AIS phone reception (1 bar) but no problem at all with the hotel wifi (5 bars).

Zeavola is the best of the 2 or 3 resorts on Laem Tong in Phi Phi island. The beach is right at the door step, and is stunning. The villas have been designed as dark, all wood, mosquito-netted atmospheric type rooms, which is nice, but a little more light at times would have been nice. A bath tub was also sorely missed. The resort, being built amongst bushes and trees was a pleasure ground for mosquitoes - the resort sprays regularly but visitors should still remember to be on guard!
