My wife and I had a nice experience. The cruise is a deluxe one but not a luxury (3-star to 4-star)”

The food was excellent. The staff who served the food were outstanding. The overall dinning experience was wonderful. The front desk and the room service was great. The egyptologist was knowledgable and very helpful.
They have no formal payment system except their preference for cash. The boat is dated and is not a 5-star one. No internet to speak of and they wanted to charge me even though in the Booking.com had it free. The only place available is in the Bar room and is turned on upon request.

Wonderful”

The outdoor space was wonderful as was the lounge and bar area. Staff were all excellent. Our guide, Hamed, was excellent and took really good care of us.
Dinners needed improvement and the location of where the ship docked in Luxor was awful. We had to walk through other ships to get to ours and we were not close to anything to walk to.

Superb”

Our room on the boat, a suite with balcony, was lovely. Clean and comfortable with a surprising amount of wardrobe space. The staff, especially in the restaurant, led by the ever cheerful and gentlemanly Adel, were excellent. The food was outstanding, with variety and freshness, the chef was so talented. There were only a few people on our trip from Aswan to Luxor and we had Master Egyptologist Hamid to ourselves. It was an honour to learn about this fascinating land from him. A real gentleman. He helped us in many ways. The boat was full on the return journey and so I expect the entertainment would be back. I would certainly recommend this lovely yacht of the Nile. Seeing the sun go down on the river while gently sailing along is the highlight of our trip. Come to Egypt for an unforgettable experience.

The staff on board was very friendly. Food was great.
There was a misunderstanding with the payments I made. I ended up paying for one room twice. 3 months after my stay, I am still trying to get my money back, which is why I am not recommending this cruise company.

The entire Alexander the Great experience was incredible. Sailing down the Nile was a surreal, magical experience. The staff on the boat was excellent. We had the best tour guide, Hamed, of our entire trip. He was so knowledgable, warm, and kind. Egyptian food on the boat was amazing. We could not recommend this more highly.
The gym was subpar but that was it. Everything else was incredible.

Great time at the Nile”

The boat is renovated with minimalist decoration, which we really liked. The bathroom was a bit outdated but it was pristine clean everytime (the room is made twice a day). The whole crew are so nice people, they strive everytime to fulfill any requirement and keep you happy. The manager was always ready to solve any inconvenience (we change our guide from English to Spanish,  which made the schedule change a little). Our guide Abdul was so knowledgeable and fun. The food was delicious. We loved the whole time we spent on  the ship, at the end we didn&#39;t want to leave.

Good value if you are looking for a smaller ship with attentive service”

Unlike most Nile cruises which are really just floating hotels, this ship looks and feels more like a yacht. Though the ship itself isn&#39;t quite as luxurious as a Sonesta or Viking cruise (which you&#39;d pay more for), the experience is 5 star. Staff were eager to do anything to make sure we were happy. There is turndown service and free snacks and fruit left in the room each day. Our guide, Aladino, was very friendly and knowledgeable and all the vehicles were brand new and comfortable.
The food was phenomenal overall, but at certain times the cold dishes, like fruit or salads, were subpar. It&#39;s not a deal breaker, though, since the portions are enormous and you&#39;ll still eat plenty if you skip the salad (discipline yourself during multi-course meals to save room for dessert). The music played on the loudspeakers was very weird and outdated.

Review for the owners&#47;managers and assigned guide. Moved to different ship due to low census”

This is a review for the management company more than the boat itself. They were highly honorable. We only found out upon arrival in Luxor the day prior to the cruise in March 2021 that there were not enough people booked to sail on the Alexander the Great, and we were going to be upgraded to the Sonesta Sun Goddess. We had booked two balcony suites on the Alexander and we were not at all disappointed by the substitution. The sun goddess is all suites with balconies and newly renovated. They communicated via text and arranged for a private guide and driver to pick us up at our hotel and take us on the promised tours in Luxor in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds... then took us to a cafe to pay for the cruise with the representative from the Alexander the Great. That was a little disconcerting, but we went with the flow and the amount charged o our cards was exactly what was listed on the booking.com reservation. The private guide stayed with us on the boat the entire time and arranged for all tours and transfers and went above and beyond to make us happy. Never did we feel unsafe or taken advantage of. We were very pleased and would definitely use this company again. Thanks Mr. Hammad for making our trip to Egypt wonderful despite the curse of covid! Travel to Egypt now! Best time to visit because the crowds are soooo low. Really good value for your money. I was in Egypt last 15 years ago and the crowds were much bigger than they are now and the Egyptian people will be so happy you are visiting.

Warm and courteous staff. Hamed as a guide is great. Adel and Koreshi at the restaurant are exceptional.
Breakfast options were scanty, especially if you are vegerarian.. Itinerary was not followed, rather drafted as you go along.
