Perfect hotel ”
To start with the hotel is located in a perfect location in the Old City. Only a short walk to anywhere you want to go. The hotel itself is impressive because it’s spotless in terms of cleanliness, has an old charm based on the design but also modern touch, and the lobby is open to the outside with no doors and a fountain in the middle foyer. It’s kept so clean probably because you are supposed to take your shoes off when going upstairs to the rooms. There’s art along all walls with rooms circling the inner open foyer. There are only three floors so it’s easy to take the stairs or an elevator if you must. The rooms were bigger than most modern hotels and the bathrooms had great water pressure and hot temperatures. The air conditioning worked too well and my room cooled down easily. Free breakfast is included which is ordered from a menu with American or asian style options. Since I should say something constructive, my king size bed only had two pillows and could have used more.

Beautiful and Serene ”
This hotel was not only beautiful but very peaceful and serene. Local art decorated the walls on each floor and there was a tranquil fountain in the center of the ground floor. The room was clean, well appointed, very aesthetically pleasing and the breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect and in walking distance to temples and local activities such as the Saturday and Sunday Markets. The entire staff was exceptionally kind, thoughtful and helpful. Through the hotel, we booked a personal driver for the entire day who took us to all the main attractions outside of the hotel’s district. Their rate was much better than any tour we had found at the local tourist office. If we ever return to Chiangmai, we will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful boutique hotel”
We spent 2 nights here and had an excellent time – this is a beautiful, boutique hotel with awesome staff. The hotel is very picturesque with lots of attention to detail and is located in a great spot inside the Old city with lots of temples, cafes & bars within walking distance. We had a nice, very clean room with a big bathroom & very comfortable bed & the staff here were great, always very helpful and attentive. Had a great time here and already looking forward to coming back

Value for money”
My review is gonna be the same as others. This hotel has not let me down. I love the interior and how sustainable their furnitures are, it is mostly wood made. The room is clean and brightly lit. Breakfast although not buffet style, provided you with 13 different sets and you choose what you would like to eat. It comes with tea/coffee and orange juice. Located in old town, it is within walking distance to chiang mai night market and many other massage places. Makkachiva has my strong recommendation.

Makkachiva is a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is clean, beautiful and neatly maintained. Our room and the view from the room was great! Hotel is 10 steps away from the night market and it was very convenient for us. Free breakfast was amazing and for the second day of our stay, they made thai food of our choice and the food tasted authentic. Overall, it was a pleasant stay

Best location, highly recommended, would definitely return! ”
Location, location, location! Amazing location near lots of night markets and best of all, 1 block from the Sunday market. Would highly recommend staying here at least for Saturday and Sunday to visit the awesome markets. Breakfast was delicious, room is clean and comfortable. Staff are very kind, warm and welcoming! Excellent value. Will definitely return and stay here again next time.

Fantastic breakfast and a 5 star service”
A small boutique hotel which we chance upon after reading all the fabulous reviews, we decide to give it a try. Absolutely no disappointment at all! Highly recommended for their friendly staffs with initiatives in making sure you feel at home. The breakfast is very delicious! We ordered the prawn fried rice and the beef noodle soup. Best we had after travelling 3 weeks in Thailand! It’s not easy for my man to be sending praises continuously on food as he is a great cook himself! So when he couldn’t stop saying how good the noodles are, it has to be very delicious! Overall the stay, the ambience, the whole experience is definitely 5 star!

Great Hotel in Chiang Mai”
Really great hotel with phenomenal ambience. The lobby area is so peaceful and serene, I could spend my days just sitting there in front of the pond. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always said hi and smiled every time I walked by. Breakfast was included and delicious. It was centrally located in the Old City area of Chiang Mai, with a beautiful temple right across the street. Pretty much everything I wanted to see in the city was a short walk away, including the night market and other attractions. All the tours knew where it was, so easy to get picked up from for whatever your you book.

Beautiful hotel, an oasis in the city. Like walking into an art gallery. They require guests to remove shoes in the lobby (they give you sandals to wear inside), so the hotel is spotlessly clean. Great breakfast - fruit, coffee / tea, juice, and a choice of a freshly cooked main dish. Friendly staff. Free mini bar (no alcohol).

Makkachiva is exceptionally amazing!! Think yoga, meditation and zen fused into a hotel property with a minimalist chic twist. Outstanding staff that are professional and gracious. It is conveniently located on a main road without the noise factor and a short walking distance to the Old City night market. The ambiance and design are impeccable from the time you remove your shoes at the threshold near the courtyard water display. I especially loved the hanging plants and the open skylight. A scrumptious breakfast was included so the price point cannot be beat.

My wife and I loved our stay here! We even stayed an extra night because we enjoyed it so much. Very clean throughout the entire hotel and all the staff were extremely kind. One of the best locations for the Sunday night market as well.

Charming Boutique Hotel in the Heart of the Old City Part of Changmai”
We stayed at the Makkachiva for 8 nights and our stay was wonderful. The hotel is ideally located in the old city part of Changmai. The hotel is charming and quiet. The staff is wonderful, in particular Gee at the front desk who is full of energy and always helpful.

Exceptional”
Makkachiva is a wonderfully stylish, clean, and comfortable hotel, located right in the heart of the old city of Chiang Mai and only a stone’s throw away from the Sunday Walking Market and temples. The breakfast (served until noon!) was quite good and cooked to order with a number of choices. The staff there were lovely too. A quirk is that you have to remove your shoes on the ground floor and not wear shoes in the room, which keeps it clean too! Highly recommended!!

This is such a beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Loved everything about it. The staff was over the top friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend booking this! The massage shop around the corner also had the best masseuse.
