Good location in Ubon Ratchathani, with a very friendly & helpful hotel front desk staff. The choices available for the buffet breakfast was only so-so!

Friendly staff...convenient location for Ubon Ratc”
Convenient hotel when visiting Ubon Ratchathani or connecting through the airport on the way to Bangkok. Large clean rooms with friendly, helpful staff! Could improve upon the breakfast menu by adding more choices for farangs like bacon!

Great location but bad kept hotel.”
upon arrival we realised that none of the staff spoke english. thank goodness there was a senior staff there who came from bangkok and happened to be in ubon ratchathani for that period to help us. for the next 17 nights we were there, her help was indispensable. the hotel is a nice and big one, but was not upkept well. the rooms had minimal facilities. the pool was green and yucky, and there were lots of mosquitos. i can go on and on about the bad points. it really isnt good as it seems. however, it had a great location for its price. there were endless food and shopping nearby and you could take a cab/bus/tuk tuk easily. despite not being able to speak english, the staff there were really friendly. housekeeping was really good and they are always ready to help you. do not attempt to eat breakfast there because its really not worth it. my friends and i gave up breakfast after 3 nights because it was too horrible. and we paid more for every night. bad decisions on our part. if any, do not stay here for leisure. as i was here for a research project that lasted about 3 weeks, it was inevitable that i got desensitized to all the flaws. there's a nice bar called zinc bar right outside the hotel.

Pathumrat hotel, ubon ratchanari, Thailand”
One of the best hotels in Ubon. Busy 3-4 star hotel with impressive entrance. Staff particularly helpful (TOM). They helped me organise two days of sight-seeing and another manager printed off a map for my forwarding hotel. Rooms reasonable to good and pretty much what you expect from this level of hotel.

Older hotel close to airport”
the pathumrat hotel is in ubol ratchathani in north east thailand. it is an older hotel that appears to have been built in the 1960's. i don't think anything (except perhaps the lobby) has been changed since then. the place is good enough for a night, but tired. it needs a total renovation or a least a really good clean. there is a swimming pool (which i did not use). it is located close to the airport and about ten-fifteen minutes walk into the centre of town. you could probably walk to the airport in a half an hour.

Pathumrat Hotel”
Unfortunately for this hotel, it has seen better days. As far as I understood, it was one of the first hotels to be built in Ubon. Time has progressed, but the updates seemed to have seriously lagged behind. The room was clean but the bathroom needed some renovating. The layout of the hotel lobby and floors was a little strange. The hotel staff were pretty friendly and the one staff member that really went the extra mile was Tom. He was very helpful and polite. Although this hotel served it's purpose and I was relatively satisfied with staying there, I don't think I would go back there again. For the money I spent, I could find a more updated hotel.

Good Location Hotel”
We arrived Ubon at 10:00 p.m. and we find the hotel is very good because it is close to the airport. The shower is not very good and they should use a better shower head. Generall speaking it is a good hotel and value for money.

Amazing value and friendliest staff.. ”
We were very impressed with this hotel. It was pretty much as described and very comfortable. We asked for a kettle to be provided in the room - when one arrived it was new! But arrive it did along with tea bags etc. WE asked for drinks around 10.30pm - again the staff were happy to serve us - even opening a bottle of wine! the cost was very reasonable too!

Worst Service ever in a run down hotel”
We arrived in Ubon Ratchathani City after our lovely stay in Kongjiam. The Pathumrat Hotel look good enough on the internet, but the deluxe room was really disappointing. It's just an old style hotel room of decent size that needed to be renovated a long time ago. The included breakfast was so bad, that we had to go to a coffee shop outside to get some eatable food. (No ham, no bacon, just some thai syle sausages available, the eggs so oily and done completly dry with the cheapest toast that you can buy in Thailand). But not enough of the bad news: on the day of check out we called the reception to get a taxi for the transfer to the airport at 11.45am. (We were told that the complimentary airport transfer was not possible since teir car broke down and that they forgot to tell about it). When we checked out at 12.00 the staff at the reception just called the taxi service. By 12.15pm there was not taxi in sight, so we insisted to call again. By 12.25 we started to look for a taxi by ourselfs and were lucky to get one at about 12.30, so we were just a little bit late to arrive at the airport for our flight back to Bangkok. That was the worst experience in a hotel in Thailand ever. (We live in Thailand permanently) It would be good to shut down the hotel for good until a new management would be found and extensive renovations are done.

dreadful”
In dire need of renovation. Dreadful musty smell throughout. Swimming pool filthy, a real health hazard.Door to room almost unopenable due to dragging on floor. Bathroom mouldy. Oldest hotel in Ubon and it shows. Much better places to stay. However staff were brilliant and eager to help, they deserve a better establishment

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, and good breakfast, opt for the ordered breakfast rather than the buffet. Lovely hotel, very grand.

Phutumrat Hotel ”
The location of the hotel is very easy to get to the city center and nearby the shopping area. Well other things is quite low ex. the smile of the carpet in the hallway area. Room just ok but I cant feeling about the bed any coz it 's old. well if u have other choice pick hotel nearby called Sunee that new and nicer price about the same.

Good hotel very friendly and helpful staff”
Overall thought this hotel was good for the money. excellent location smack bang in the middle of town close to all the shops and restuarants. Also near to the airport only 100 baht in a taxi. The staff are very friendly and helpful, TOM the bell boy excellent. but the hotel looks a bit old and shabby in the rooms and hall ways the bathroom especially. Overall good value and would stay again if only for the helpful staff they make the hotel.

Faded seventies majesty”
The rooms in this hotel make you feel as if you have gone through a time warp - solid, functional seventies furniture with bathrooms to match. Major upgrading needed if this hotel wants to present a modern face, but the 70's style is actually quite appealing. My wife had to ask hotel staff to come and clean the grimy bath-tub. Our rooms were at the front of the hotel but this did allow us to watch the two flights into the airport that morning land and take off. The pool seemed a bit of a murky health hazard, which was disappointing as we had hoped to swim with the kids. Breakfast was very Thai, which is OK but the service staff were very slow to bring out replacement dishes. A very large tour group came through at the same time and I guess this is where the hotel manages to stay afloat. I hope there are better hotels in town.

Review of the Pathumrat Hotel”
Typical of Thai hotels, the lobby is renovated and the rooms (at least the one I was in) were not. The pictures look fine, or at least passable, but the reality is much worse. Everything is was old and outdated and in need of repair. The bathtub porcelain was worn and chipped horribly. I went to Ubon to spend a couple of days with the family of a friend. Unfortunately, there are only 3 hotels in Agoda for that area. I have stayed at many Bangkok hotels, and to be honest, you don't expect much at that price range, but I figured you could adjust for the price because it was not in Bangkok and expect a nicer hotel for less. This was not the case for this hotel. I've stayed in better places for less. Definitely NOT a 3 star hotel, a stretch to call it 1 star. My stay was uneventful. Staff was not overly helpful, but then again I didn't ask for anything special or our of the ordinary and didn't stay in the hotel other than to sleep. Beds are not comfortable. While I was there, I did see some nicer looking hotels, but unfortunately they were not listed in Agoda. I would not recommend this hotel if you seek any level of comfort.

Only good about this hotel is the room is spacious”
The hotel interior look worn down, we even have cat poop on the main corridor for the entire nite and was not even clean after 8am. The TV reception was good the first night and turn poor the next. The food in the restaurant was good and serving was large and price reasonable.Another thing is the loud disco music which can be heard up till 3am if you are not lucky with your room.
