"We booked this hotel just for one night as an overnight stopover between our afternoon flight from Palermo and our onward flight the next day to Melbourne. The hotel itself was superb with efficient, helpful staff. Lovely indoor/outdoor restaurant near the pool with reasonably priced wines and meals most of rich were Sicilian inspired (instead of the usual boring international standards you get in most airport hotels). Our waiter was helpful, friendly & with a nice sense of humour. Breakfast was included and was OK. Our room was a good size and both it and the entire hotel were beautifully decorated/maintained. Our only complaint was the shuttle service from the airport(ask for a PDF directions/map of airport pick-up point when booking). Their shuttle serves 3 hotels OK so someone will be last off and it was us, but for some unfathomable reason it took the driver 45 minutes to get to the hotel when it fact was 10 mins away (as proven by the return journey). The other two hotels were all within cooee of ours (in Isola Sacre) and passengers/bags were quickly unloaded so either he got lost, didn't know where to go or forgot we were on board - we have no idea (the shuttle trip therefore took as long as the flight from Palermo!). The driver seemed to be paying more attention to his mobile phone and the rap-music he was listening to (groan..) rather than the route. NB: The drive from the airport (at least the one he took us on) is grim & depressing but don't worry: Golden Tulip was a complete surprise: an oasis more like a resort than an airport hotel and far, far nicer than the surrounding area!. If you need a hotel near Rome Airport look no further. "

"I was personally delighted that the hotel was at par with the rest of the 4-star hotels i have stayed before, except for the location which was not located in downtown Rome, it could have been perfect, but on hindsight, its probably just the right hotel perfect for my stay as it would not appeal alluring if it were located in downtown Rome. I like the soft music brought about by the piano bar at the lobby, to mention as well its cozy ambiance and the lovely oysters at the adjacnet restaurant. I like in particular the bedsheets and pillows-their softness and purity and the number of them! plus the aroma"this works;sleeps" deep calm pillow spray and roller for nostrils, that made me want to stay in the hotel and lounge in my bed all day and night. The breakfast was surprisingly reasonable rates too. Except for the check-out procedures, which took very long as there were no other person in the counter, and even if i told the girl that we were getting into shuttle airport service, she did not prioritize us nor get help from the other personnel to accommodate the rushing clients, we were embarassed having made the other clients wait for us in the shuttle, our stay could have been flawless"

"We had the most comfortable stay at this hotel. I'm glad I believed the reviews on trip advisor and booked this hotel. Our room wasn't big during the first leg of our journey but it was quite comfortable and well furnished. We stayed again at the hotel on our last night in Italy. This time, however, our room was a lot bigger than the previous one. So I'm not sure whether were were upgraded to a delux room as, both times, we had booked an economy room. Anyhow, the hotel is quite pricey by 3-star standards but unlike some other hotels in Europe that claim to be 3-stars, this hotel is most definitely a 3-star hotel- clean, comfortable, very friendly staff, perfect location...made our stay in Rome a positive experience. " *Departing Rome hotel stay* After reading reviews of expensive taxi fares i decided to take public transport from rome city center termini station which was super easy. If you plan to stay at fco da vinci airport hotel before taking a flight the next day you can either take a €4 bus to fco airport or the train which i found easier €14 to fco which takes you to terminal 3 departures, then you just have to take the stairs downstairs to arrivals and follow the signs to hotel shuttle number 24. The shuttle is €6 which they record your name and charge to your hotel account. The hotel may have been a 4 star in its day but it would be a 3 star now entirely based on the condition of the hotel rooms and amenities for example: scratched chipped paint on walls, furniture and signage, stainless steel tap handle worn and rusted, smelly carpet on 3rd floor, broken gym equipment etc. The bar menu was reasonably priced for a hotel i suppose at €10 a salad (generous portion), €2.50 cappuccino, €7 wine, the dining restaurant is more expensive. Overall it was clean, safe and the staff were friendly, good for a quick stopover near the airport at an affordable cost. "

"Serving staff in restaurant and bars were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus into Rome centre runs frequently which is very helpful. It was a shame the outdoor pool could not be used before end of April especially as there was a charge for residents to use the indoor spa and small pool. "

"Hotel is wonderful compare with city center property, very new and big room, have hair dryer and electric kettle in room which is very useful for long distant travel. Hotel is not far from a small train station with walk distant about 5 min, has some small direction outside of the station, and hotel provides shuttle service to city center and airport charged 10 euro per person which is acceptable. Hotel staff is helpful but has not mentioned city tax 6 euro per person per night on check in, then advise need to charge on departure this may confuse guest if has not stayed in Rome with the acknowledge about this rule. Overall is excellent, will back again."

"I chose this hotel as we were due to fly out from Rome airport early in the morning. Having returned my rental car, I was pleased to discover that the hotel was in walking distance from both the car drop off as well as the main airport building. This meant saving a lot of time and I would definately recommend anyone who is departing from the airport early in the morning to consider the Hilton. There is a free shuttle service into the centre of Rome which we used to get into town for our final night in Italy. Again this is a great plus for the hotel. In terms of the acutual hotel itself, rooms are basic but clean. The breakfast spread was good and helpful when you're facing a long haul flight the next morning. The gym was well equiped and has a pool which hotel guests can use. There was complimentary 24 hour wifi access in the lobby. The only negatives I can think of are that the wifi access in rooms must be paid for (as with guests staying more than 1 day) and the prices in the bar and restuarant are pretty high compared with the rest of Rome. That said, I think in terms of an airport hotel it satisfies all requirements and anyone staying longer should look to stay in central Rome instead."
