A lovely place for a stay in Florence”
We stayed for one week at this small Guest House. Please remember that COVID has caused hotels/guest houses to close for many months providing no income. As such, the Residence is not fancy with new paint and curtains, but it is clean and the breakfast is filling. We had trouble with mosquitoes and the staff was very responsive- cleaned everything and the bug situation was resolved. Of course, the staff is very nice and we enjoyed interacting with them. One thing to remember... these are really small apartments over three floors. The bathroom is on the first floor and the bed is on the third-- might be an issue if you use the loo frequently during the night.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well laid out. The hotel location was perfect for exploring Florence. The cost of for the stay was low, so I wasn't expecting lots of frills and amenities. I received exactly what I was looking for and couldn't be happier.

The staff was very kind during my stay. They gave me a map of local places to visit and eat. The fresh breakfast was tasty. The location was great. I personally really like apartment (loft) style hotels / accommodations, so this was a great find. I went to five different cities in Italy during my trip, Florence was my favorite and my hotel was a big reason why I enjoyed it.

Home from Home in Very Heart of Firenze - lovely decorations/furnishing and great breakfast spread”
Stay here if you want a hidden home in Florence city 5 minutes walk from the station, the Central Market and the centre of it all - the Cathedral and 9 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio - stayed 4 nights and only walked everywhere. A very much "cared for" home - please respect it and let's not be noisy or pushy - it's an exercise by the owners in maintaining excellence. We need to keep up with it. Writer is 70+ and has + 3 million miles of travel experience - and this is totally in my highest category of recommendations [I do not do 5 star joints ......you can stay at home for those - overseas I want travel and good comfort and complete cleanliness - just as you will find here.

Location is good. Close to every places you would see like cathedral, museum and so on. Clerks are all kind. Everything was good to me. It was great.

Very spacious room and perfectly located”
The hotel is renovated from an old discarded building, now completely changed the impression to be home-like, neat and clean. There is an interesting in-room two deck structure that 1F is the sitting room with a kitchen and 2nd the bedroom. Our room was arranged on the courtyard, very thoughtful that with kid and luggage this is perfect for us. Very friendly staff and they have helped to reserve a table at a hot local restaurant. Only thing not so nice is the WiFi is not stable at all - so definitely a family choice maybe not for business.

Residence La Contessina staff greeted us and made our check in easy. This is a family run hotel that really cares about their customers. The room was very spacious and well appointed. Great location within 10 minutes walk to most museums and churches in Florence. Fantastic Stay!

Cozy”
We found this stay to be extremely cozy and enjoyable. The atmosphere is very authentic feeling and it’s just a couple minutes walk to the busy downtown streets. Yet, inside the hotel, it was very quiet. Staff was great and reception spoke very good English. Would stay again!

Quiet and convenient”
We really enjoyed our time at La Contessina. The staff was very nice, the breakfast was good and it was convenient to the train station and to all the major sites. We'll definitely be back!

Pleasant stay and would book again. ”
Imagine having to drag your luggages through uneven cobblered streets... Major difficulty! We are thus glad that we booked Residence La Contessina as it is around 6 mins walk away even while dragging all those heavy and bulky luggages. We booked the split level apartment with kitchenette and were pleased to see that the pictures are as per what it is in reality as well. Our apartment - 203 - is clean and spacious with cool air conditioning. Kitchen comes with free use of fridge and freezer, microwave and kettle. But you’ll have to pay €25 extra for use of stove, oven and kitchen utensils. Queen size bed is a farce as per all hotels in Europe as it is just two single beds joined together but it’s sufficient and quite comfortable as per the sofabed. Pillow on the low side though. Breakfast is simple but sufficient. Service differs according to which receptionist and staff you get.

Fantastically located - only a 6-minute walk from the train and tram station, only a 10-minute-walk from the most famous sights in Florence. Wonderful, helpful staff. Clean rooms, fresh towels when needed, a well-equipped kitchen. La Contessina is right in the center, yet it's surprisingly quiet at night. If I were going back, this is where I'd stay again. I'd definitely recommend it to friends.
