Brief stay”
The hotel room was nice and clean. I was placed in a twin bed room, I would've preferred a double bed. The location of the hotel is very convenient, opposite Brignole station and the Airport shuttle bus stop which departs every 45 minutes. I found the staff to be friendly enough. A couple of blocks away you can walk to some nice bars and restaurant. There's also a late one opposite the hotel. The only one small thing I would mention is for a four star hotel they could afford give guests a kettle and small selection of complimentary teas and coffees in rooms.

Very chic and beautiful hotel. Nicely decorated and equipped. spacious rooms (for Italy :)) Well located next to the train station and walking distance to the port and shopping. Staff was SUPER helpful, professional and efficient. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again

The rooms are very dated. The bed however was comfortable. The room was very hot as air con was turned off as seems to be normal at this time of year. They did open the window for us and that made it a lot better. One particular member of staff I found very rude for no apparent reason questioning me when he could not find my room key he unfortunately did let it down for the others.

if you ever plan to stay in this hotel, take only the room. I have never had such a bad breakfast. The scrammbles eggs are from powder, slices of meat, cheese most likley cheapest one could find. Packaged museli etc. etc. I heard good things on Starhotels. This one is like from another planet. The room on the other hand was nice, recently updgraded.

Feels old, dead hotel”
I didn't like it, meant to be four star but attention to me was one star and the reception didn't care about me. No smiles, very cold and they're old enough to retire. One night I asked to borrow some cutlery and he gave me an attitude. Told me to go wait at the bar but no one came and he offered no help so I just grabbed some myself from behind the bar. Check-in and check-out was super slow. Because of this bad experience, I decided not to stay with Starhotels again in Florence. One bad stay affects the reputation of the whole franchise. Btw, if you're reading this, go to restaurant Il Genovese for food. The Paste Pesto was the best I ever had. Tell them Michael recommended you and they'll give you a free bag of Pesto crisps after your meal.

We are impressed with the design and good standards of the Starhotels President with cleanliness and comfortable room with nice bed and the hotel provides free usage of internet computer at the lobby which is good for those without an Ipad.

I was overall satisfied with my stay. The bigger plus, as for the all Starhotels, is certainly the location. The Hotel is in fact located in a very central area where you can easily access city center and rail station. The hall was nice and big but the rooms, despite being big were a bit old (moquette floor is old and dirty.) Breakfast was OK and I would be back considering the price was convenient too.

Bad Experience During Check In”
I had a bad experience at the hotel. I presented the booking confirmation voucher upon check in. The front desk staff had given me a double room even though I had booked the suite. We had to ask the front desk and double check Agoda and Starhotels President's website just to be sure of our booking and we realised that we are being short changed. The staff had mentioned that their system had only show a double room booking even though she had seen the booking voucher. They had corrected the situation and we had to move luggage and change rooms and it left us with a bad experience wondering why we are not being treated correctly in the first place. The hotel location was good and cleanliness was good too.

Stayed 3 nights with husband there on our vacation. Overall experience was satisfactory. Clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed. Very businesslike type of hotel and staff all looking professional. 2 mins from Genova Brignole train station/metro, 10 mins to the nearby piazza Colombo where it's full of nice restaurants and coffee bars, 15-20 mins walking distance to city central area and all the shopping area. Good access of traffic, convenient location! The only bug that bothers me is that on the hotel website it says the standard room amenities include tea making facilities but in fact there is none, which is really disappointing & misleading info.

Outdated interior design”
We wanted to check in roughly 30 minutes to 2:00 pm but were told that the room was not ready and were offered to leave our luggage at the reception. Instead, we decided to wait in the lobby and in a few minutes a room was ready for us. Yet, they gave us a smoking room. So, we had go back to the reception and wait for another non-smoking room again. While waiting for another room at the reception we noticed that other new guests were also reporting issues with their rooms which the reception staff could have solved in a more friendly way. The interior in the new room was really outdated which is probably the biggest issue at the hotel. Old furniture with scratches is another. We don't understand why the hotel is called President. Cleanliness could also be improved. When we wanted to use the hotel gym early in the morning, there was no light and no staff present. We had to go to the reception to have it fixed. On a more positive note, the buffet breakfast was fine and the hotel's location is good. The in-room wifi connection is limited to two mobile devices which is simply ludicrous given the digital age we're living in.
