Lovely Hotel with Top Notch Staff”
Had the most lovely time staying at the Sun Smile Lodge. Ended up extending our stay because it was such a nice place. Had the double room with two single beds. The room was huge, updated with a couch and a private balcony. Room was cleaned every day, and water was provided in the fridge. The owners have a cash exchange and travel company in the lobby so we booked everything through them which was convenient. They were so welcoming and made Koh Tao feel like home. Excellent customer service. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach, and a 5 minute walk from delicious Thai food (up the street away from the beach by 7-11). Would definitely stay here again if we return to Koh Tao!

Great place to stay and best team!”
First of all, you have the option of free picking up from the pier by the arrival on the island. Location is definitely well - close everything you need (restaurants, taxi boats, 7/11, etc.). Motorbikes are also available at the reception for an even lower price than at the local rentals. Airy and fully furnished rooms has everyday cleaning. But the main thing that really matters is the team of the hotel. It is like a family. Extremely helpful and attentive to customers. You can solve any problem and get any answer you have. Be sure.

One of our favourite hotels whilst travelling SE Asia. The owners go above and beyond and are so welcoming and friendly it really made our stay! The room itself was spacious, even had a little sofa and coffee table area, big fridge and bowls and cutlery provided if you wanted to buy in your own breakfast. Tea and coffee and lots of free water included. Spotlessly clean, daily housekeeping and really good WiFi. Do not hesitate to book this hotel.

Best room and staff we have experienced in South East Asia ”
Our double room is one of the best we have experienced in our 4 months of travelling. They offer free pick up from the pier and back. Each of the members of staff are brilliant, they physically can not do enough for you! You get one big and two small bottles of water every day, they offer beach towels and books to take to the beach (2 minutes away). The room is so spacious, massive comfy bed, 2 lounge chairs, coffee table (free tea and coffee) and a huge balcony. The only downside is that the Wi-Fi, although they have 4 to choose from, are all really slow. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Loved this hotel!! ”
Absolutely loved this hotel!! They take care of you your entire stay. We ended up coming back again after a short visit to Koh Phanghan. They pick you up from pier, give glass of soda on welcoming, and give you map of island and advise. The room was perfect, very quiet at night so you can sleep and really quick walk to things to do. They set us up with our motorbikes both times, I think we even letting us use personal one to rent until rentable one came in. We had our laundry done by them to. They are the best!

Wish we didn’t leave”
Sun smile was by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are pristine, the location is 2 minuets from the beach and Sairee town Centre. The rooms were cleaned well everyday and they provide water, coffee and fresh towels every morning. Above and beyond we became friends with the staff, they are always so friendly, pick you up and drive you to the pier, help you to learn simple thai phrases and have tons of advice on what to do/where to go on the island. They even gave my Mom a birthday present which was just the sweetest. The family who runs the hotel is doing things right and helped to make our stay on Koh Tao really special. I hope to return soon!

The boss man here is super friendly, rooms are great value for money clean spacious and has a nice balcony! You can rent scooters and also got an agency so you can book to get to the next place! If ever back in Koh Tao would deffo come here

My husband and I were really very pleased to stay with Sun Smile Lodge Koh Tao hotel. For all three weeks travelling in Thailand here we have met the best attitude to hotel guests in all meanings. I am very thankful that we have been welcomed with a smile, cold towel, and jammy papaya juice with ice :) We have been explained how we could spend our time efficiently and we've been give great advises about nice free places on the island. With this hotel we have rented the bike and all necessary equipment for snorkeling, and staff always was ready to help and even taught us few thai words. I'm writing this review with wonderful memories from Koh Tao island, the place where we would love to come back and the staff of the hotel made our stay just perfect. I recommend this hotel for all people who want to meet nice thai peolpe, taste amazing thai food nearby in Su Chili and 995 Duck and discover stunning nature of Koh Tao.

Perfect Stay! A must for visiting Koh Tao!”
We were so glad to follow online recommendations and select this place for our stay in Koh Tao. We were dubious as it was so cheap but the recommendations and rating online were so high that we went for it. The location is excellent, rooms are very clean and well maintained butt he cherry on top is the staff whoa re just so very friendly and helpful and made our stay so enjoyable. Upon arrival at the ferry port, we were collected free of charge but the Sun Smile Lodge transfer van and after arriving at the hotel were seated by the owner, Chai who told us all about the island, the property and gave us loads of recommendations for things to do. We hired a scooter from the property at 200 Baht per day and were very happy with it. We used their laundry service twice and were over the moon to receive our clothes back the same day which we weren't able to find anywhere else we stayed. Chai and his staff were always on hand for further recommendations as we talk to them several times as we extended the hotel, changed our ferry bookings, made and rescheduled our train bookings and made plans to visit different parts of the island to go snorkelling - all of which they helped us with. Several wifi routers with several passwords are in place and wifi worked pretty well throughout - even when I had a two hour skype video conference to manage. It went off briefly during a full day thunderstorm which is unfortunately just how life on Koh Tao is as their power is all run off of generators. Happy to see that there were no leaky windows during the thunderstorm though and we were still able to sit on our balcony and enjoy the views of the rains without getting wet Please don't overlook this if your are visiting Koh Tao - well worth the experience for guests!

Sun Smile Makes Me Smile”
We fell in love with Sun Smile Lodge Koh Tao within the first 2 minutes of arriving. We received free taxi service from the pier just by calling the front desk the day before. Right when we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Cha, who we assume is the manager/owner. He and the rest of the staff gave us a map filled with great suggestions for places to eat and things to do during our stay. All of the suggestions were amazing, especially the 750 baht all-day snorkeling trip. Sun Smile is a 2 minute walk to the beach and is very close to everything you could ever need, including all of the bars, restaurants, shops, and spas. The room was spotless every time we returned and was always restocked with water bottles and coffee. The staff was very willing to help: when we were leaving, one of us left a bag of snacks in the taxi and the driver went out of his way to come back and find us in a huge crowd on the pier. They were a big reason we decided to extend our stay. We are DEFINITELY coming back to Sun Smile!

Best Guesthouse in Thailand”
Sun Smile is hands down, no questions asked, a 10 out of 10. We stayed three nights and from the moment of our arrival received a phenomenal service. Cha and his staff are lovely, wonderful people. Pleasant, smiling and friendly - always willing to lend a hand to help out. You will receive no better value anywhere in Thailand. We were welcomed into the office upon arriving, offered a refreshment and shown the local area on a map with dining options, diving advice, tour options (options, I say, nothing ever felt sold or pressured to us), and activities. We were provided a map printout and local guide book and given a background of the island. We introduced ourselves once and were called by name the duration of our stay. The rooms were clean and relatively updated, tidied daily, with trash emptied, bed made, etc. Tea, coffee, and water was provided free of charge, the room was sizeable, with a balcony, bright and inviting. The location is near the main intersection at Sairee Beach with taxi boat service right across the street - one of the guys even walked us down to make the introductions! Beach towels were provided so we wouldn't need to use our room towels, book selection is available for reading, and the staff were extremely helpful with our transportation questions and the best options for onward travel. Cha even went over with me what to expect for my flight out of Bangkok which was over a week away, giving me approximate expected costs and travel times among other tips. I would 100% recommend Sun Smile to any traveller. Hands down one of the best experiences in over 15 years of travelling the globe. Amazing people, good clean place, nice locale, unbelievable value for the cash.

Helpful staff, great customer service”
We were there during the raining season and was due to get back to Koh Samui on our last day there. However Koh Samui was flooded and we were alerted by the helpful receptionist (sorry his name slipped my mind) and he offered to call our hotel in Koh Samui to check on the situation in the area. It was messy as the area we were going to stay next in Koh Samui was flooded and we had alrdy booked and paid for our hotel. Trying to arrange for refund and rebook another hotel at a new area (which is not under flood water) was a hassle but they (Sun Smile Lodge, Koh Tao) was accomodating, helpful and very patient in assisting us. 👍🏾👍🏾 to their customer service. Good location too, perfect distance away from the noise of bars but close enough for convinience to everything. The Triple Room was nice that overlooks some greeneries.
