Relaxing and clean stay”
We were four friends from the UK staying for three nights at Marian. It was very pleasant. Lovely character and pool. The other guests were also mainly foreigners (Europeans, Americans, Australians) - several families with young children and a few couples. The location is great - close to the waterfront, Bazaar market and plenty of nice places to eat. A 20-30 minute grab taxi to the airport cost only 12RM (~£2). The pool area is lovely. The only areas for improvement would be to provide cushions for the sun beds as lying directly on the wood is not very comfortable. The pool area is also quite small so can be loud when also sharing with young children. The bedrooms were nice if not slightly on the cosy side. Breakfast was very simple (coffee, toast, some cereal and bananas). The staff were really great.

Everything was superb!”
My stay there was very pleasant! Everything was superb and I've got the room with the city view which has a balcony. It was my wedding anniversary and was totally satisfied with the place. Except for one thing only. Unfortunately, the pool was quite dirty and we went for a dip the next morning, was kinda disappointed. Because I went once before, the pool was crystal clear and it looked really pretty when taking a photo there. But this time, I couldn't take any photos because of the pool condition and it would be quite embarrassing to show to others. Hopefully the hotel manage a good cleaning schedule for the pool. Otherwise, everything was perfect! 🥰

This place is super cool. Refurbished 19th century colonial home, doesn't get much cooler than that for a hotel. Rooms were well furnished, clean, and bathrooms were huge. Pool is nice, with a nice area to rest on the wooden chairs. Breakfast provided was simple, but good for a light snack before heading out. The charm of this hotel is really what makes it so great, I've never stayed anywhere like it. Great area too, the historic Chinese neighbourhood is very close and has some of the best food in Kuching. Highly recommended!

It was precious 'mom-need-a-rest-too' short trip and just by chance, I found this property. Guess what? I was soooooooo glad to stay there. All the front staffs were kind and gave me local tips and support. Even I had a good heart to heart conversation with Aida, one of the hotel staff, made me feel 'home'. Local cafes ( both modern western style and authentic local style ) are just a few minutes and those historical areas was all within reach. Oh, I have to mention this the room was super clean!! I'll definitely stay again :)

Love staying here. Pro. -easy access to the city. right in the middle of the location. walkable. -the pool was nice. located at the garden. -the room was tidy & clean -earplug provided -free simple breakfast -hot shower is working fine. Cons. -since it in the middle of the town, do aspect the noisy from the road. overall, nice place. I have a peace of mind while I'm staying here. plenty of books to read. it's an old chapel renovate into a hotel.

Great Gem close to everything”
Location is excellent, Room quite large, Bathroom modern and clean, Pool great, Light brekkie of cereal and toast, Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downfall is the amount of stairs after a long hot sweaty day out 80 odd shaped stairs a challenge - no alternative way up. NO in room safe, no refrigerator and no tv in rooms. Would stay again and definitely recommend to family and friends.

Strategic with amazing city view”
Perhaps i would not recommend if you come in a group of 3. From my experience, I got a room at ground floor and since the building is half wood, we can hear footsteps noise from upstairs. And the room we had got no view. However i won’t deny the view was amazing from the lounge. And the hotel itself was kinda instagramable. The parking is abit limited and you need to enter a cathedral before get into the hotel private parking. Try to go walk at night instead of bring out car because they usually closed the gate after 10 pm. (Need to pass the cathedral’s guard first before enter for parking). I would love to have another experience with the hotel but next time i’ll book different room.

Room was great, there was no window in the room but there's a window in the bathroom facing the pool where natural lights get into the room. Gorgeous view of the DUN at night from the common space. The bathroom was spacious but the shower cubicle is small & limited. No body mirror in the room, but the mirror in the bathroom is very big. Cleanliness is okay. This place is a walking distance to the Waterfront & nearby shops, eateries & self laundry. No private parking. Overall stay was nice except i didn't like the thin blanket, and the walls were thin so you can hear loud people next door & outside.

Timeless and Classy”
I haven’t been this giddy checking in to a hotel before. A gorgeous old house from the 1880’s converted into a wonderful hotel. The rooms are quaint and modernly updated, there are fantastic common areas for reading, chatting, or working. And the Granary restaurant is a few steps away with delicious food and drinks. Visitors should be aware that the “included breakfast” is nothing more than bread for toast, coffee, tea, and juices.

This is my 1st time staying here and boy, I’m suprised with this place! Unique experience, clean and beautiful room, really value for the money with it’s strategic location and facilities. There’s swimming pool! Would book here again if I visit Kuching in future.

Good place to stay with family , couple or solo traveller.. have a nice view from top of the building where we can clearly see sarawak river also known as Kuching Waterfront.. also it near with shopping complex and more attractive place to go.. although the room not soundproof if the couple want to check in.. but the design of the room is unique and beautiful..

Good location, only a few minutes walk over to the waterfront bazaar. It is also a short 20 mins drive over from the airport. The swimming pool is also a great addition to the hotel. Breakfast provided is simple, with toast breads, cereals and coffee. However, no issue as there are many food options within 15mins walk away. Overall, a great experience with The Marian Boutique Lodging House.

Wonderful place, very charming, an oasis in the middle of town. A really cool and charming place”
Breakfast is ok but as mentioned by the reception it is just coffee Tea, toast and jam. So don't expect to much. However the place is so nice., I wouldn't care too much about the breakfast. I rally liked the scenery. The buildung is a lovely old wooden villa on a hill. Earlier it was a kind of school. The rooms are very clean and nice. The pool is. Bery good.

Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Kuching. Really nice swimming pool and the attached restaurant is also great. Rooms and hotel exude an amazing colonial style. Breakfasts are very basic, however I recommend getting some Hawker Sarawak Laksa anyway.

A real secret”
Divine boutique lodge with a heritage flavour in a location close to many great eateries and restaurants. Two minutes to the action in the Kuching waterfront, these lovely rooms have excellent en-suites, a serene pool surrounded by a garden filled with birdlife. A little haven right in the centre of town…wonderful.

Perfect staycation”
Parking is accessible via the church, feels secure as it is a gated parking. Its well located in the city center & walkable to eating/touristic spots in Kuching city. The layout and design of the house really feels like an oasis. Sadly, didnt use the pool as it rained the whole time we were there. Highly recommended!
